I have been known to write something I did not put on my Web site because it seemed (or would seem to some) too mean-spirited. Well, I don’t claim to be a saint, and I may censor my writings too permissively. Sometimes laughter is indeed the best medicine, however; there is something cleansing in the songs of the Capitol Steps, whatever one’s politics.

This is by way of introduction to my latest blog post, “Realign with Me,” about song lyrics I wrote by that name to the tune of “You Belong to Me.” Some may love my parody; some may hate it; some my think me naughty and insensitive. Perhaps I am suffering shell shock from being on the front lines of the Anglican church wars for so long. If so, forgive me.

My defense of “Realign with Me” is found at http://deimel.org/commentary/blogger/2008/08/it-is-difficult-for-others-in-episcopal.htm. My lyrics are at http://www.deimel.org/poetry/realign.htm. Get your singing voice ready.

Best regards,
Lionel
