Calvary Church returned to the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas yesterday. Its attorney filed papers asking that the court appoint a “monitor” to account for and to oversee property of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. The court papers also ask Judge James to allow parishes to pay their assessments into escrow accounts, rather than to the diocese, where they might be used to undermine The Episcopal Church. All this is described in my latest blog post, “Calvary’s Cavalry Again Rides to the Rescue,” which includes quotations from and a link to the new filing. You can read my post at http://deimel.org/commentary/blogger/2008/07/calvarys-cavalry-again-rides-to-rescue.htm.
